DATE: 28 October 2017
Whereas, the University of Tennessee employs the T Bus as a form of transportation for student use across the campus, and
Whereas, there are 4 different routes known as the “The Hill”, “Neyland,” “The Fort”, and “Late Nite” route, and
Whereas, each route operates at different intervals and times during the day and night such as;
- “The Hill Route” operates on weekdays, 7:00AM-4:00PM at a frequency of 7 minutes and 4:00PM-6:00PM at a frequency of 10 minutes.
- “Neyland” Route operates on weekdays, 7:00AM-4:00PM at a frequency of 8 minutes, 4:00PM-7:00PM at a frequency of 10 minutes, and 7:00PM-9:00PM at a frequency of 30 minutes.
- “The Fort” Route operates on weekdays, 7:00AM-6:00PM at a frequency of 10 minutes
- “Late Nite” Route operates on Sundays and Thursdays, 6:00PM-2:30AM at a frequency of 10-12 minutes and on Fridays and Saturdays, 6:00PM-3:30AM at a frequency of 10-12 minutes.
Whereas, there are 49 bus stops located across the University of Tennessee campus with only the name of the T Bus route that will stop there, and
Whereas, this information on the route times and operations can be found at parking.utk.edu but this information is nowhere to be found physically on any poster or boards near the bus stops, and
Whereas, there are no analog or digital clocks around the bus stops to help aid students in what current time it is so they are informed how long they must wait at each stop, and
Whereas, students, university faculty, and persons just visiting the campus with no phone, portable clock, or device capable of measuring time of day have no way of being able to ascertain when and how long they should wait at a bus stop,
Be it hereby resolved, that the Parking and Transit services of the University of Tennessee attach a digital clock and material outlining the specific T Bus route and operation times for each specific bus.
