First-Year Council

Sixty first-year students comprise the First-Year Council. Throughout the year, FYC members plan events in conjunction with Student Services to connect with campus and reach out to members of the student body, as well as participate in a range of SGA programs. They will also work together with the Student Senate to produce legislation beneficial to first-year students. Members have opportunities to learn about the many facets of SGA and student life at UT while connecting with administrators to lobby on behalf of the freshman class. Contact Vice President, Isaac Holt, at with questions.

Our Vision

The vision of the 2018-2019 First Year Council is to represent a close-knit community among all first-year students, providing equitable opportunities to engage and empower themselves. Using our influence to bolster diversity and inclusivity, we seek to help these students achieve their goals in a comfortable and positive environment.
