The Undergraduate Student Senate is the governing body of 64 undergraduate students, representing the interests of all students at the University of Tennessee. Senators are elected from academic colleges and residency classifications each spring.
Purpose & Vision
Develop ambassadors representing student interests, creating a positive, inclusive environment, and bridging campus gaps through productive dialogue across communities.
If you are interested in getting involved in the SGA Student Senate, prospective senators should run for their seat in the annual spring SGA Elections. More information and requirements of the election process will be provided during an interest meeting hosted by Election Commission. Vacant seats are filled upon occurrence and can be applied for here. Vacant seats are also posted on our social media. Any full-time student representing the academic college or residential area from the open seat is eligible to apply. For more information, please contact Krish Dogra at sgasenate@utk.edu.
The Undergraduate Student meets Biweekly in the Senate Chambers (Student Union, Room 169) from 6:15-8:15 PM.
