Executive Branch
The Executive Branch leads SGA’s day-to-day work and liaisons with university administration to address the needs of the student body. The Executive branch works to implement various initiatives, promote student advocacy, and foster campus partnerships across the university. |
Undergraduate Student Senate
The Student Government Association’s Student Senate is a governing body of 64 undergraduate students that represent the interests and well-being of all students at the University of Tennessee. Each academic college and residency classification is represented through senators elected by their fellow students in the annual Student Government Association elections. |
Department of Justice
The Department of Justice oversees the rules and policies of all branches within SGA, providing interpretation of governing documents and addressing any grievances brought forth regarding the governing documents. The Department of Justice also serves as the Election Commission, overseeing the planning, execution, and certification of the annual SGA Elections. |

First-Year Council
First-Year Council is an introductory program designed to get incoming first-year students involved on campus. Throughout the year, the FYC program is designed to introduce first-years to UT with a leadership development-focused program by engaging them with different aspects of SGA and its role in the broader UT community. |
Torch
Torch is a program designed to get transfer students involved on campus. Each semester, a new cohort is formed to welcome and engage transfer students through leadership development and community-building experiences. The program introduces participants to the SGA and its role within the broader UT community, helping them find their place, build connections, and grow as leaders at the University of Tennessee. |
General Body
The General Body serves as an access point for all students who are interested in learning more about SGA and participating in the various campus-wide initiatives led by SGA. |
