A Bill to Recommend the Addition of Crosswalks to
Melrose Avenue & Melrose Place for Student Safety

Whereas, completion of Strong Hall will likely add foot traffic to this area,
Whereas, cars often veer into pedestrians’ way as they cross the road at the stop-sign-intersection of Melrose Place and Melrose Avenue (in front of Hess Hall),
Whereas, cars often veer into pedestrians’ way as they cross the road at the stop-sign-intersection of Melrose Place and Melrose Place (in front of the Tyson House),
Whereas, confusion is currently common among pedestrians due to the absence of crosswalks and traffic instruction,
Whereas, there is currently no crosswalk at the stop-sign-intersection of Melrose Place and Melrose Avenue (in front of Hess Hall),
Whereas, there is currently no crosswalk at the stop-sign-intersection of Melrose Place and Melrose Place (in front of the Tyson House),
Whereas, there is currently no crosswalk at the stop-sign-intersection of Melrose Place and Lake Avenue (between the Kappa Sigma House and the Golden Roast),
