The Government Affairs Committee responsibly advocates for students to the Tennessee State legislature. We accomplish this goal through a diverse committee representing student interests as well as through campus outreach programs. In past years, the Government Affairs Committee has promoted various student interests in Nashville, including but not limited to student fees, HOPE requirements, and capital funding projects.

Government Affairs is the only Student Services committee that has an application/interview process. Students on Government Affairs will learn about the state legislature and how it affects the University. Students will learn about current bills up in the legislature and travel to Nashville in the Spring semester to advocate on behalf of students and Student Government.
