TITLE: A Bill to Allow Undergraduate Students 24 hour Access to the UTK Law Library

Whereas, the law library located in the University of Tennessee College of Law is only open to undergraduate students from 7:30am-10pm on regular weekdays. [1]

 

Whereas, the University of Tennessee Hodges library is open 24/7 on regular weekdays to all students on campus. [2]

 

Whereas, law students have 24 hour access to the law library with their vol cards. They also have 24 hour access to Hodge’s library.

 

Whereas, undergraduate students are asked to remove themselves from the law library at 10pm.

 

Whereas, some students choose to study and work on projects in the law library due to its closer proximity to the fort area, Laurel Hall and Vol Hall.

 

Whereas, undergraduate student should have access to the information within the law library just as law students are allowed access to information within Hodge’s library.

 

Be it hereby resolved, that the Law Library allow undergraduate students to remain in the law library after 10pm.

 

Be it hereby resolved, that undergraduate students have access to the law library with their vol cards after 10pm.
