Academic Affairs


The primary focus of the Academic Affairs Committee is to research and resolve student concerns regarding academics (requirements, policy, disputes, etc.) at the University by working closely with the Deans of each college, the Office of the Provost, and various other faculty, staff, and administrative boards. The Academic Affairs Committee hosts the annual

Vol Walk-of-Life event, one of SGA’s most popular programs that has been a tradition for 18 years! Here, students have an opportunity to interact with their academic college, learn about graduation requirements and supplemental academic aids, programs, and offices at the University, as well as win many exciting prizes as they participate in the “Game of Life.”

A goal of Academic Affairs for the current school year is to dive into the University’s Vol Vision for the Top 25 Initiative. Academic Affairs will be charged with researching, managing, and spearheading ways to improve the University through Vol Vision 2020.

The 2015-2016 Academic Affairs committee is separated into the following sub-committees: Undergraduate Enhancement, Academic Support, Events, Academic Awareness and Supported Transition, and Student Engagement Advancement.
